I have been on pednisone for the last year & 1/2 to treat my latest ulcerative colitis flare. Which didn’t work so I started Remicade in May. I had 3 infusions and it worked like a miracle, until I landed myself here in the hospital with BOOP. Here is a link if you want to read wikipedia’s definition of BOOP.
Dr’s now associate BOOP with IBD. I am so scared and sick of these continuing auto-immune/inflammatory dieases. My lungs are responding to the high levels of prednisone but I am scared I will NEVER be free of pred, I am scared that I will never be able to breathe completely again and scared that I will most likely have to stop the remicade and pray that my UC stays at bay and also scared of what OTHER god-awful inflammatory related crap is around the corner!
Has anyone else been diagnosed with boop or a similar experience?
