Prednisone is another drug that is a steroid which is quite powerful. Many many ulcerative colitis patients are given this medication to help the inflammation of the colon. Its been around for a long time unlike some other new drugs.

Medication Domination

My Gastroenterologist believes me to be a moderate to severe sufferer, I have not had any surgeries (knock on whatever happens to be around that resembles wood), and I am “medication compliant” as they say, which basically means out of desperation I obey the doctors.

DENIED Prednisone

My name is Sally and I have lived in various countries, taking my ulcerative colitis with me where ever I go. Born in South Africa, my UC started in Canada, I was ok in England, diagnosed in Australia (6 years ago) and well, pooped in a plastic bag on my sister-in-law’s bedroom floor in a moment of desperation (and occupied bathrooms) in Brazil – fun!
