My Brave Fight with UC

Meet Conor:

Im a graduate Biomedical engineering student (Graduating August cant wait!). I love the gym/ played rugby hurling and outdoor soccer(Slowly i will work my way back to gym and cycling in next few weeks!). Hoping to get a job in Engineering soon but i want to be full of energy and in a good mindset when taking it on.

Colitis Symptoms:

Pancolitis(waiting on Biologics) Sevre UC

Conor’s Colitis Story:

Basically i spent 13 days in hospital recently (Got caught on 2 weekends…NO DR!…) then finally finding out my that my diagnosis was Pan colitis (Severe UC). Big shock as I am so young and had never heard of this Disease before. I realize now that the little blood i got in my normal stool years ago was probably and indicator of what was to come but heck what can you do now…! So now i am home for my third day since i was in hospital, my stool is still Type 6 but i am only going once a day Thank god and no blood!. Slowly I am weaning off my steroids ((Prednisodane) + adding Esmoprazale and 2 Biokult per day) so i am not sure how I will feel once there finished?

I had an infusion of Inflectra last week and I am due another in 2 weeks from now then 6 and 8 weeks from then. It was a huge shock But my energy levels are pretty high at the moment will this go or stay?.

Has anyone ever fully recovered from Pan-colitis and been in remission for more than ten years or so? and if so how bad are flare ups after?

Also I am turning into a bit of a health freak/Nutritionist. So I will update all with how my diet regime works in a few weeks from now and tasty recipes.

At the moment i feel good, Insomnia slightly effects me due to the steroids but i feel happy. I take (1 Aloe Vera shot/ 1 shot Cod liver oil / 1 Vitamin B supplement) every day this may also help your energy! along with one whole avocado and probiotic yogurt. Backed up with a Colitis diet and Low fiber diet for the next two weeks & Plenty of Fluids!.

Medications and Protocols to Date:

These added supplements were my idea and not mentioned by Nutritionist or Dr but there natural so I cant see the harm in small doses!

There is a book on this site I wrote for everyone’s use.It is free and Adam has posted it under Cathy’s Free E book.
My experience and most others are pretty close in detail.
I had been on many drugs and finally I have healed my colon, although your diet sounds pretty good I suggest you follow only SCD…in it you will find no yogurt. ..no dairy!!
I think you will find hope and solice from my book.
I feel for you. You can heal your colon…it takes courage to trust new information and research and learn…it’s like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. l feel I found it. I’m so happy to be off all drugs prednisone Remicade on and on…they near killed me…now 3 years on my birthday drug free.
