Right after you are diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, it FOR SURE is an awful time. With doctor appointments nearly every day, and medications needing to be picked up from the store and countless visits to the bathroom each day…it’s not a fun time. But like other parts of UC, the diagnosis period is part of the process to getting things under control and the stories below detail first hand experiences of what it is like.
My name is Yvette. I’m 46. I have three sons: 18,15 and 9. I’m a teacher, a coach, a marathoner; many people have called me Superwoman. I fundraise, wait tables, volunteer, if you needed a shoulder to cry on recently, it was probably mine. I didn’t say No and I didn’t ever slow down.
Cole’s relatively new to UC, right now he’s taking Prednisone 30mg/day after starting at 60mg. Remicade (just had second infusion). Multi-vitamin, vitamin D, calcium, tumeric, vitamin C, vitamin B12, omega 3-6-9, L-glutamine, licorice root (stopped taking right now as I started SCD, but am now introducing them again)
