Comments About the Doctor:
Dr. Behm is an excellent doctor. Although he is busy, he always makes time to listen to his patients (when I called with a concern, I talked to Dr. Behm himself for 15 minutes about it instead of playing phone tag with a nurse). The nurse he works with is also very attentive and volunteers her time to facilitate the local Crohn’s/Colitis support group. Not only does Dr. Behm hear my issues, he takes my feelings into consideration and partners with me in creating a treatment plan. For example, I haven’t found Imuran helpful– most doctors seem to scold me for refusing to take it (I was on it for 7 years) but Dr. Behm seemed to understand my concerns and was willing to work with me as I pursued alternative methods.
