Track Bowel Patterns Like a Pro

With ulcerative colitis or another chronic gastrointestinal disease, you know how important it is to understand the patterns of your bowel movements. Tracking patterns can tell you a lot about how the diet and lifestyle choices you make every day influence your GI health. It can also help you and your doctor monitor your condition and the effectiveness of treatment. Now there’s a new, high tech, easy and discreet way to track your bowel patterns, and contribute to a research study of bowel patterns that may help people worldwide.

Pooply is a free smartphone app that helps you monitor your bowel patterns and export an easy-to-read report for you to review and share with your doctor. The app is being tested in one of the world’s first virtual research studies about what poop can tell us about GI health. Use the Pooply app and join the study to get insight not only about your own pooping patterns, but also to help validate this new technology developed by researchers whose goal is to modernize the way people track bowel movements and collect data that can ultimately lead to better treatment strategies for UC and other GI diseases.

It’s easy to use Pooply and participate in the research study. Here’s how:

All of your personal data recorded on the app is secure and encrypted to comply with all relevant standards for clinical research. You can learn more about the study from the National Institutes of Health clinical trials database here: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04182048
