Introduction:

My name is Eric, I’m 34yrs old and have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in December of 2011. Since then I’ve experienced a very different world in diet, and life. I workout 6 days a week, run 5-6 miles at least 3x a week, and take a lot of vitamins. Still, I’m very fatigued, sluggish, and not as healthy as I could be. I don’t like the Prednisone, and want to keep of the drugs, but sometimes, that’s the only thing that helps. My goal is to learn how to treat the disease naturally, without modern medicine. I want to live drug-free.

Colitis Symptoms:

My current symptoms are fatigue, gas, and just irregular movements.

My name is Eric, and I just got diagnosed with UC a few months ago.

I have a hard time relaxing, naturally an active person, I’m also very anxious most the time. I find that I’m able to relax when I have appropriate company, to watch a movie, or listen to music with. I workout 6 days a week, and jog about 3x a week. My diet is pretty bad, not as focused as I’d like it o be, and I’m having a hard time dealing with it. I live alone, Downtown San Diego, and I also have 2 jobs. I bartend at the San Diego Symphony, as well as manage a Mortgage Brokerage. Stress is present, and I know that impacts my health greater than the average non-UC person. So I’m trying to work on that also.  I need a better diet, one that allows me to stay fed, with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals needed to last the day. I love my smoothies, I have a Jack Lalane juicer. Best thing ever, just a pain to clean up really. I also try to maintain a high protein diet, since I stay active a lot. If there’s anyone who can actually help structure a diet, and eating routine, what to buy and how to make it fit in my life, I’d be a happy man. Seems really hard for me to do, and it gets harder as the days pass. Managing relationships has been a moving target too, and it’s embarrassing to share my condition. ultimately, I need to be healthier than ever, and all the time. Any more information I can gain from this site, or others on it, is a huge value. I really appreciate this center of information, and I look forward to meeting more people. Thank you.

Medications:

Tumeric is good. Natural, and it works.
