Hi Everyone
First, id just like to say thanks Adam for making this site … i FINALLY found a website that actually has information on it from people who suffer with IBD as i do.
My story … well I’m 27 and have a twin sister and we both have Colitis!!!
Our doctors have been so useless in helping us … there solution is more drugs the better …. they don’t seem to ever care about what your actually doing through.
I have had it for 5 years and have had 3 bad flare ups, this one im having now has been ongoing for about 10months!!!!! I had my beautiful baby girl in January 2011 and my Colitis started to flare up in my last trimester.
It was so bad that i would have to stop her from feeding and run to the toilet and leave her screaming … so awful and upsetting listing to her cry while i was on the toilet unable to get to her!!! …. So sometimes i would take her to the toilet with me :-) …. not the most hygienic thing to do but i had to do it.
So my baby now is 6months old and i still have my colitis quite bad … im on 10mg of Prednisone and Asacol tablets but they are doing nothing. I have been drinking green tea and that seems to be helping the cramps.
So i am considering changing my diet and have been looking for ideas on the net hoping to find a cure or some relief from this horrible thing.
So good to read your stories it gives me some hope and also lets me know that im not alone!!!

All of the posts from “Annonymous UC” are from ulcerative colitis people who anonymously submitted stories or Doctor Reviews, medication, supplement reviews etc… I post all these stories to the site, but they’re different from my own personal stories so hopefully this account makes more sense:) -Adam – founder of iHaveUC.com
Hi Louise,
that’s great that you are enjoying the website.
AND wowie, I’ve never heard yet of twins with UC. I’m not sure if there are other cases like that on our planet, but its great that you have someone to talk to about what happens with UC.
I myself had had some great success with a diet change. Its actually part of the reason why I started this site, as up until changing diet, I was on the road to either more medications or surgery, and I wasn’t wanting either back in august 2009. take care, and please keep us posted on how things go for you.
all the best,
adam
I’m sorry both you and your sister are ill. Do please try the SCD, especially as you are breast-feeding – the intro diet can be really effective in dealing with a flare, and like I always say to people, it’s something you CAN do for yourself. good luck. :) Trish
I too have fed my son on the toilet. Sometimes, you just have to. I was diagnosed when he was about 2 months old. I have been doing well on Imuran, but I would like to have another child. How were you monitored during pregnancy? Were your doctors hesitant for you to get pregnant?
