Thank you for your recent purchase.  I am very appreciative of all the support that has taken place since I began creating products for the UC’ers of the world.  As an ulcerative colitis patient myself, I know how difficult living and moving forward with this disease can be.  And I know that there are hundreds of thousands of people all over the world going through the exact same struggles right now, even as you are reading this note.  And I definitely understand that if you are a UC patient too, you very well could be reading this from a toilet seat somewhere.  That’s OK.

As I’ve learned since my initial diagnosis, UC is most definitely a struggle, but it can be defeated.  I’m living proof of that, and there are many others with UC who are in the same boat.  Once again, I hope more than anything that you enjoy your purchase, but most importantly, I want to wish you the best of health moving forward.  Keep your head up and your spirits high, that’s something I tell everyone.

    Textbook UC symptoms….

    “Supposedly” no UC or Crohn’s as per diagnostics…

    After 18 years of getting by and meds not working like they used to, I’m finally ready to change my eat anything diet. It was my only plus though, eat what ever I want and not gain weight because I never stayed in me long enough. I’ve ordered all the required reading and cookbooks to start the SCD diet. Can’t wait to get started and hopefully feel better than I have in years…..

      I’ve been ‘getting by’ for 31 years and am very happy to find Adam’s site since just like you, I don’t think my meds are working quite so well anymore… I hope you’ve seen great improvements since you wrote your post!

    Thanks Adam,
    I too have had UC for 16 years now and it seems over the past couple of years nothing will suppress my UC. Its very frustrating constantly feeling sick. I have had several flare ups since being diagnosed and my UC usually goes into remission after a couple months but not any more. So I think it is time to try something different. I am ready to change my diet to see it this will help. Hopefully by changing my diet and with my new medication, I can finally put my UC back into remission.

    Just downloaded the UC books package since the drugs don’t seem to work anymore. I’ve had a ‘flare-up’ since November, and I think it’s my condition having gotten worse. I’m going to give the dietary style a try. Wish me good luck!

    It took me along time to listen when everone says its not food related. Your video is great.
    Just come out of my 3rd remission and started diet today.
    Thankfully I love eggs ha ha

    Status today. 10 pasty to semi-solid stools per day with urgency. No bleeding.
    Hope to reduce the numbers asap.

    Thanks Adam. I’m currently in a flare up and really looking forward to giving this diet a try. I’ve learned so much about this disease from your website and can not say enough how much I appreciate having this resource. I’ve been really good at just hoping that this whole thing would go away, but have been inspired by your site to embrace and accept that I’ll have to make some changes in my diet. Still not sure how I’m gonna be able to give up IPA’s and other craft beer, but one step at a time, right?

One step a time is excellent thinking too in terms of the whole diet change process. It’s for sure not impossible to stop eating/drinking certain things you love. Not super fun, but for sure possible.

    First of all, thank you so very much Adam and everyone that has contributed to this website! I appreciate all of you so very much~

    I am so excited to be able to try a new approach to living with my UC. I have had UC for almost 20 years and have had great success with my meds and very few flares. I currently take 50 mg of 6 mp 1 x daily and 750 mg of Balsalazide 2 caps 2x daily.

    When I do flare, I have used prednisone and extra balsalazide and have always been able to get back on track. However, in the past few years, my immune system seems to be suppressed and I get sick quite often. I have also been getting some type of spots on my legs that have been treated by a dermatologist and are being watched closely. I have always experienced hair loss and fatigue. I eat a fairly good diet and exercise regularly, but eat a lot of foods that are on the bad list as my body has tolerated them on meds. I have tried to taper off the 6 mp and have had flares, but I did not change my diet while trying to taper. I would like to be able to commit to the diet then eventually wean myself off the 6 mp and possibly the balsalazide. Just a few quick questions before getting started. I am sure some of these will be addressed in your e books, but I wanted to get a jump start on the diet~

    How do most people wean off the meds? When is it safe to try? Any tips?

    Are any of these foods tolerated off meds:

    Oatmeal? 100% Fruit Juices? Soy Milk or the like? Coconut Water? Fried Eggs? Any types of Breads tolerated?

    My best regards to all and I am so glad to know I am not alone in this fight~

      Hi DeAnne,

      Thank you for writing in and I hope you enjoy and learn a bit from the ebooks I wrote.

      Medications and weaning off them are different for everyone, especially with something like prednisone as there doesn’t seem to be a gold standard weaning schedule…but that’s alright, just something to think about. I would for sure consult with your doctor(s) about any medication modifications you may partake in moving forward. But for sure, many UC’ers begin diet changes while still taking their medications.

      Grains, and things like soy and all breads are things which are not part of this diet. I know it must seem strange, but bread even though GI doctors often recommend it after a colonoscopy is something which is way off limits for this specific carbohydrate type of diet. (You can make break at a later date from almond flour, but not from the grains you are used to.)

    Ok, I bought the e-book. Saving trees I guess, but PDF is a pain in the butt. I got it to work. I have had UC for 20 years. Doctors always tell me I’m an “extreme case” and try to sign me up to cut out my guts. I haven’t given in. I pooped an actual poop sometimes, so I know there’s something going on, and if I can find the right recipe (meditation, diet, exercise, got to make time for that), I can live on without million dollar medicines that make me feel shitty anyway.

    First of all I am so glad I found your website and I just downloaded your book. I have a lot of catching up to do, but I want to thank you for creating such a positive and friendly space where desperate people like me can finally find positive energy. THANK YOU!!
    I have been having a bad UC flare up for a few months now, and even using Prednisolone I am seeing very little improvements. I feel weak since I haven’t eaten properly for a very long time. I will start following the diet right away, and remove the bread and rice straight away. I can’t wait to get started and be part of this community. Thanks again, Monica
