I’ve recurrent episcleritis, a migrating polyarticular arthritis, and a leukocytoclastic small-vessel vasculitis. I switched to Entyvio in Nov 2016. I’ve been on sulfasalazine, Apriso, and Lialda, and now back to sulfa (dose recently doubled).

I still look for the bathroom wherever I go, but I don’t panic if I don’t see one. I don’t worry as much when we’re traveling on the road, but I doubt I’ll ever not have a fear of going back to the days when I couldn’t even go on a 1 hour drive without stopping to go. Thank God for the GPS. My husband and kids have been very supportive. My son scouts out the bathroom for me wherever we go.
Sulfasalazine (brand name Azulfidine in the U.S., Salazopyrin and Sulazine in Europe and Hong Kong) was developed in the 1950’s specifically to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Sulfasalazine is used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
