My Healing Journey

I am 41years old, married with two daughters, 6 and 4.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis about three and a half years ago.

The diagnosis came after several months of bleeding, a mounting sense of discomfort, bowel and abdominal pain.
When I got out of there I was prescribed by a doctor who said I should immediately start taking medication. I told myself I wasn’t going to take medication because I’m sure i can beat this disease even without medication, and I throw away the prescription to the nearest bin.

From that moment on I began my journey to recovery.

I started the treatment , trying the diet of raw food for eight months that was not so good for me.

Homeopathy helped me a lot.

I tried Chinese herbs did not work.

At the same time doing all sorts of spiritual therapies that have helped me grow and cope with the situation.

Until a year ago in my search I came across a site of healing with scd diet.

The diet has changed my life. I have been on the diet for one year, I’m very careful about the diet with minor changes it is really helping me. I eat quinoa and buckwheat, hardly any red meat, more chicken and some fish. Lots of fruits and vegetables , legumes and a lot nuts.

Now I feel good and energetic, almost no bleeding, and no pain at all.however I still go to the bathroom about 10 times a day, but with less urgency, and still wake up at night once or twice.

My situation now is very well and I feel that if I will be careful and continue with the diet I will heel. Plus I take long walks in the nature and with the help of God I believe the disease is only a step in my development and a chance to look at my life in a more meaningful way than before.

Medications:

I do not take any medication, and i never did.

  1. This is such great and positive news Elad! Thank you so much for posting. Other UCers need this information.

I too refuse to treat UC with medication.

    Appreciated!

Glad you hsve improved but 10 times?

if that is improving over time then fair enough, but if that’s your new normal i’d be somewhat concerned that your disease is not in remission?
