Hello:
My name is Chris, I am 66 years of age. I am a Husband and Father. I still hold a full time Job.
I have Ulcerative Colitis which I feel really started approx 20 years ago. It became active approx 8 years ago and it erupts every so often. I have been clear for 6 months at a time and then active for 2 months. The eruptions can be quite severe. I have been hospitalised twice. A CURE a or a longer time in remission would be fantastic.
I don’t know what triggers my eruptions, I am not on any type of diet.
I will accept any advice.
My Medications:
My medication is;
1600 mg Asacolon} per day
75mg Imuran} ”

My doctor recommended I keep a food diary and carefully try foods, 1 at a time. I asked how quickly would I know a food is aggravating my symptoms and he said it could take up to 2 days so if I have no problems with a new item within 2 days, it stays. Also, I have learned for some foods I can have smaller quantities without issue but if I have too much, I had a problem. So it can also be a moderation that keeps the food from aggravating the symptoms. Hope this helps and I hope you are well very soon.
