Some more background:
I am a retired legal professional, female, 66 years of age, on Disability (SSI) as I could not work after having 4 spinal re-constructive surgeries during 2001 – 2004. And then I also had UC and then renal cancer. I am into fitness, with water aerobics as my primary source of aerobic activity (residual pain issues make it very hard for me to walk or jog). I also do weight training, stationary bike, pillates, yoga and a lot of deep stretching. I paint, read, surf the net, socialize, shop, and really have a passion for gardening.
Symptoms:
At present I do not have any symptoms at all. Thanks to my Homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathy for Ulcerative Colitis
Diagnosed with UC in 2004, put on Asacol, 9 pills a day. Several flare ups forcing to go on Prednisone, resulting in massive weight gain, in spite of an active life style with regular gym workouts.
Later switched to Lialda.
In 2012, frequent flare-ups, could not be controlled with Prednisone so I was on 6MP (Chemo).
In May 2014, came to India and started Homeopathic treatment (holistic healing), also changed diet drastically, no gluten, no milk, only home-made buttermilk, vegetables, fruits, eggs, poultry, meat, Amaranth Flour, Millet Flour, lintels, nuts and lots of water. In 3 – 4 months I was off Chemo and Prednisone. Still taking Lialda, as I am too scared of flare-ups and do not want to go back on Steroids, but doctors feel confident that I can start tapering it off any time I was mentally ready. I have now lost over 8 kg (over 17 lbs), and still wanting to lose another 20 – 30 kg. I feel great and cannot wait to finally get off Lialda as well. I really recommend Homeopathic medicines, if you can find a doctor in your area. It has given me a new lease of life. BTW, in 2009, I lost one kidney to cancer and in 2014 I was having protein in my urine. But now my kidney functions is perfect and all my tests are coming clean. I cannot stress the benefits of Homeopathy. Just make sure you find a good and compassionate doctor who really knows his/her job.
I believe there is a Center for Homeopathy in California. May be you can find it, if you are in the US. Homeopathy heals from within. They treat the patient and not the symptoms, so in addition to Ulcerative Colitis, it has also helped with my depression, anxiety (no more anti-depressants for me), allergies (no more inhalers for me), sleep, stress, chronic pain, weight loss — you name it!
Medications:
At present only taking Lialda 1.2 gm, four pills a day, once a day. With Homeopathic treatment I am successfully off Prednisone and 6MP (Chemo Therapy).
