Comments About the Doctor:
Dr. Chava was easy to make appointments to see, however her spoken and written English are lacking the needs dictated by her profession. My current GI called and asked if I could explain what my files said because they were “unintelligible.” In the office I sometimes had to resort to very basic sentences (ie. “I have pain” instead of more detailed phrases describing my current situation). Because of this she is fairly impersonal and not very easy to open up to.
She was also very interested in keeping me on stronger drugs instead of trying other milder options first. Recommended not expecting changes or healing to come from my diet (scoffed a little at the idea even though I have food triggers). Her nurse is amazing though. If I could have been treated by her nurse I would have stayed with the practice!
Over all I felt I was being funneled on the fast track towards biologics and later surgery. Little sympathy for the shock of a new diagnosis and not being able to hold down work because of the symptoms I was experiencing.
