Diet Could Be The Answer To Ulcerative Colitis

Introduction:

Hi! I am a 49 yr old gal and have been having some signs on UC for a few years, nothing to major until I got the Norovis about 5 weeks ago. This horrible flu has seemed to trigger UC, I have been having pain and bloody diarrhea ever since.

Some more about me:

I’m from the San Juan Islands in Washington St. and an Editor of an local online news website.

My Story:

Hi! I am a 49 yr old gal and have been having some signs on UC for a few years, nothing to major until I got the Norovis about 5 weeks ago. This horrible flu has seemed to trigger UC. I was so scared from the bleeding that I went to the ER to get tests done and I was so dehydrated that the gave me an IV. I have been having pain and bloody, mucasy diarrhea ever since. Since I changed my diet a few days ago ( NO wheat, NO dairy, NO sugar,) and started taking a lot of acidophilus, things are improving.

I am going to try The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) that “is a group of foods which are grain-free, sugar-free, starch-free, and unprocessed. While removing many foods that are toxic and digestively harmful the diet remains natural, extremely nourishing and representative of what our ancestors ate. Eating SCD is a way to “re-boot” your digestion and give you an overall health boost. The diet will probably have you feeling better than ever even if you don’t have any intestinal damage. But if you are one of the lucky few who needs a bit of digestive support this diet was created especially for you” Looks quite interesting!

Unfortunately now I think I have a UTI and am afraid of taking antibiotics because they are the worst thing for UC. I tried cranberry pills, but they made my stomach hurt. Any ideas anyone? I have a appt. for a colonoscopy soon, so I will see what exactly is up, very very scary stuff. I am obviously hoping that once I get this under control, that I will have NO symptoms . I really like to drink wine, but gave that up for now and hope that I can return to a somewhat normal life soon. Thanks for listening :)
