I'm in the textbooks or at least I used to be. When I was diagnosed, I was one of the youngest cases of UC known to the UCLA GI Program and was part of their teaching protocol for many years until I was moved to Cedars. I was 4 years old when I started having severe (read as near fatal) UC symptoms and was diagnosed, definitively, a year later after countless invasive procedures and three rounds with a priest giving me the Last Rites.
