Ulcerative Colitis Tips

One of the 15,000 ulcerative colitis folks using the site adds:
"Like many UCers I have spent many hours trawling the internet googling the condition and came across your website a few years ago. I read your ebook and really liked your honesty and humour. As everyone says your positivity is so encouraging and now this is my go to website when I'm thinking about UC. Thankfully my symptoms are pretty much under control at the moment but just wanted to say thanks." Kate

Update on Sue’s Colitis Joint Pains

I went to see a rheumatologist doctor at the hospital yesterday had more blood tests done and xrays of my back and hands, doctor said pains in elbows were due to having to much flexibility in elbows “tennis elbow” and to keep wearing wrist splint for carpel tunnel in hand, she said pains could just be down to my age and wear and tear “i,m 41 not 81” would not expect to be in joint pain at my age.  Was told to keep taking codamol until she has spoken to my doctor that I see for UC to get his recommendation on what anti  inflammatory I can take without triggering off my Colitis, unfortunately had upset tum with diarrhea and gone back on pentasa. got to wait till after Xmas to go back to see a reumatologist doctor.

In meantime she’s sending me for physio on back and knees.

I had a really bad night last-night, my joints were very painful during the night and back pain was unbearable.  Hope I can get inflammation down soon because the pain is really getting me down, would like to say thanks to my youngest daughter who has helped me so much by doing simple things like carrying the shopping, doing the house work, which I’m finding difficult. I will keep you updated when x-ray results come back
