Remicade Reimbursement, Humira Protection Plan, and VSL#3 Info For Ulcerative Colitis

Below are some quick links to several different things related to Ulcerative Colitis.  Shelly sent this over to me a while back, and I am only now getting the chance to post it up on the website, so I apologize to everyone here for the delay.

As some of you might know already, VSL#3 is a very popular probiotic supplement that quite a few people with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease take to help with their symptoms.  From everything I understand, it is quite a strong probiotic in terms of strength, which I assume means how much bacteria is within the capsules, but either way, many people swear by it.  The links below can be used to learn more and are product links for Amazon.com

For those of you who are taking Remicade infusions to help control and treat your ulcerative colitis, this link below might also be helpful for you.  There is some information about the reimbursement programs that are available regarding this medication.  Although not everybody may be eligible for this program, if you are one of the lucky ones, it very well may be able to save you some serious money on the cost side of your Remicade treatment.

For the people who are using Humira, you may also want to consider the Humira Protection Plan.  There is both a phone number to call regarding the Humira Protection plan: (800)448-6472 as well if you are in the United States and Canada.  I am not aware of any information for people living outside of North America with regards to Humira and assistance with the cost of the medication, so if you have any details concerning that, please share your insider info in the comments section below. Also, I would suggest that if you are interested in reading about the Humira Side effects, there is a great listing of the potential side effects at the bottom of the webpage listed below.
