Dal’s Story:
In my last post I wrote that in a year I would like to do a triathlon, well I brought it forward and have entered the 2012 London Triathlon. I thought to myself, you know what, I am not going to let this beat me, so I have been training hard, running, cycling and swimming 5 days a week for the past 2 weeks. I’ve still got 12 weeks before the Triathlon left so I need to stay in remission. I am running for Crohn’s and Colitis UK and I was hoping to raise some sponsorship, and give some fellow sufferers hope that things can get better. When I was ill I was thinking this is going to ruin my whole life and I couldn’t see any light at the end ogf the tunnel, but you/we can fight it. I believe I developed the illness through stress at work. I am trying to think positive now and I feel a lot better for it.
It seemed like a good idea to enter the London Triathlon 2012. I’m doing the ‘hardcore’ Olympic distance which is a mile swim (in the Thames where I’ll probably pick up another disease) then 40km on the bike, then a 10k run, if my knees hold up. It will be hard but fun!
I’m fundraising for Crohn’s and Colitis UK (aka The National Association of Crohn’s and Colitis).
Please help me make a difference by making a donation to my Virgin Money Giving page. Any donation, however small, is welcome, as I’d really like to hit my £500 target.

Don’t forget to tick the box to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation if you’re a UK tax payer. Virgin Money Giving will pass this on in full to charity, making your donation go even further.
Many thanks,
Dal
