I’m 47, married 26 years, 2 daughters 14 and 16. Sometimes (well alot)stressful job repairing copiers and printers( also repairing people LOL). Diagnosed with UC about a year ago.
Some more about me:
I’m from Michigan, lived her most all my life. Hobbies would I guess be the yard and flowers. (when there is time). I have a dry/ smartass/ cynical sense of humor . Try to make fun or laugh at myself, and my health issues.
Symptoms:
About 4 flair ups since last year. From 5 to 15 times a day. So swollen/ flamed up, like being constipated, cause nothing will come out. LOTS OF GAS, CRAMPING ,BLOOD and IMMEDIATE bathroom visits.
GETS REAL OLD REAL FAST.
I had scope last year and Doc said and showed me how red and inflamed it is.

Trying Bev’s regimen. Only been 3-4 days. not seeing improvement,
AM I BEING IMPATIENT !?!?!?
Ultimate flora ( 30 billion) morning before food, wait an hour, then l -glutamine mixed with protein powder ( WATER) for a drink.
Then daily vitamin, fish oil pill, Ascol, Boswellia, cinnamon pill( for high sugar), later in day after lunch, Vitamin and supplements- A&E , D, garlic, and more Ascol.
At night Fish oil and my cholesterol and blood pressure meds,then Messalamine Enemas .Try cutting out Alcohol and caffeine , no pop, Lots of water , some ice tea. Try to eat more Protein and less fiber, but trying to eat healthy.
Thinking of going to a Holistic Doc. Not sure My Doc is finding what works, seems just going through the motions of prescription meds.
ANY IDEAS!?!?!
Give all your best, Don’t want to take Prednisone again. It does seem to work after about a week or 2, but then all those side effects, just don’t think its worth it. Want something more natural, I could go on and on about prednisone. I get like every side effect- skyrocketing sugar levels , mood swings, pimples, sores in my nose( not sure if UC or med) loss of intimacy. ( not to mention I am jamming bottles of liquid up my ass every night),UGGGG!
Start to wean off of prednisone , then symptoms come back.
Tried Uceris, for 2 weeks , no difference, I don’t even know if the Asacol makes a difference…bad enough the disappointment of nothing working is depressing. Add stress of job, life,kids etc.
Also, think a lot might of started in 2007. Lost Both parents, job after 23 years, had to deal with parents house with mortgage.

Medications:
Been on Ascol for a year 8 pills a day, Prednisone on and off up to 30 mg a day .Tried Uceris( 2 weeks no difference).Mesalamine enemas .
I NEVER WANT TO TAKE PREDISONE AGAIN….This stuff is just bad. I get almost every side effect. Especially SUGAR LEVELS….As high as OVER 500..HAD TO START DAILY SHOTS OF INSULIN!!
So trying ULTIMATE FLORA (30 billion), Boswellia, L-glutamine, and Asacol
