Colitis Stories

written by: Anonymous-UC'er

Introduction:

I have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.
I can’t drink alcohol

My Current Colitis Story:

When I went to see my gastroenterologist I specifically asked about alcohol consumption.
He said alcohol and UC were not linked in anyway.
I went through a majorly tough year and divorce and my Ulcerative Colitis went sky rocketing. I also admitted myself to Rehab and quite the drinking for 4 months. My UC went away after 3 weeks.
I recently started drinking occasionally again and my UC has returned!!
Thanks for this site…I am gonna stop drinking again:)…. Just to see!
Man oh man this disease is not fun :(

About Anonymous-UC'er

All of the posts from "Annonymous UC" are from ulcerative colitis people who anonymously submitted stories to the website and did not want to include their email address(which is totally fine). So actually, there are many different authors of these particular stories. When the writers included a name they wanted to use, it is included in the original posting.

I don’t seem to do well with wine at all. I usually have to run to the bathroom after having a glass. I do better with hard liquor, but I limit myself to 1 to 2 drinks all evening. And I always make sure I eat first. Very important to do that!!
