I’ve followed Dr. Ku through four moves so far (she’s been trying to get to this particular hospital so as to be closer to her family and have a commute she could walk or bike) and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She’s smart, no-nonsense, open to new ideas re: treatment, attentive to my concerns and funny (this particular characteristic has been absolutely critical many times over during my battle with UC). From what I’ve been told, there are a number of other patients who have chosen to follow Dr. Ku during her transfers–I’m assuming for most of or all of the same reasons I mention above. I have Anthem BC/BS and every one of the offices I’ve followed her to have accepted it, but I haven’t had my appointment with her yet at her new location at National Jewish. I’m not anticipating any issues, though. Dr. Ku was responsible for getting me onto the perfect balance of meds that halted all of my symptoms for about two years. Sadly, though, something came up a few months ago and I got nailed with a fresh bout of UC. Dr. Ku reassessed my situation, did all of the tests over again to get a new baseline, went over all of my options now that I was classified as having a severe case of UC (versus my previous ‘moderate’ classification), and has gotten me back to a symptom-free status (I opted to go on Remicaid infusions). She’s very thorough and thoughtful in her treatment and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone else dealing with IBS issues, no matter how mild or severe.
