Dr. Reichelderfer was my GI doctor for a number of years. He is one of those doctors that does not believe that diet has anything to do with IBD. He was good for a few years until I discovered natural treatments. Then, he wouldn't even discuss these ideas with me. All he wanted to do was prescribe more corticosteroids. He suggested prednisone knowing that I have issues with it from years of use for asthma when I was in my 20s. I even emailed him to discuss his recommendations to try Lialda (read about some awful side effects) and asked if there was any other options besides that and prednisone. Never even got a response. I switched at that point and found a new GI doctor in the same department who is younger and more apt to actually listen to me. She has helped me through a flare without the use of corticosteroids. Would not recommend "old school" GI doctors like him.
