Dr. Mangione quickly diagnosed me with UC even prior to the colonoscopy, even though I had to really press the issue in the initial appointment in order to get him to dig deeper (no pun intended :-) in his hypotheses. His nurses are super friendly and make one feel at ease. Colonoscopy went smoothly: the preparation protocol was not exhausting and there was no pain or even discomfort afterwards whatsoever. The immediate follow-up was good, but they have not called for a year except for promptly renewing the prescription. Another con was the wait: 6 weeks for a new patient. Overall, I did feel he was competent and an excellent surgeon.
