In short I can state that this doctor saved me when I was in a miserable flare. I could not get my prior GI doctor to see me. I happened upon this doctor thru a referral from his colleague. He is ranked Boston Magazine top doc in his field. Siegenberg saw me, put me on Prednisone for a few weeks before colonoscopy. I was on Asacol which he determined that was the wrong med. I have left-sided UC and he immediately put me on Balsalazide Disodium (Colazal) and Canasa. I was put in remission in a few months. He doesn't discuss diet, he leaves that to individual. Just had a 6 month check-up and he stated that I could start cutting down the number of pills I take (which was 9 per day - 3 at 3 times a day). I'm down to 8 a day and still in remission. He doesn't want to have people on more pills than they need. I might consider getting down to 7 maybe a goal of 5(!).

I can't say enough about this doc and his staff which are courteous and helpful. I'm concerned as to when I move to Vermont that I have to leave him. I'll know when I see him in June 2014 (for my year check-up point).
