Any body out there with a Blood Clot and Ulcerative Colitis?
Does anyone have any insight on what’s next?
Since Flagyl (antibiotics) added in early October 2011, I only go to the bathroom 2-3 times a day. Was doing well, having more formed stools. Was prescribed Flagyl due to suspicion of possibly having Crohn’s due to a perceived fistula. Does anyone out there suffer from fistulas with Ulcerative Colitis? Then had small bowel study and several biopsies taken. Since that time bleeding started coming back —increasing again, and diminished stool back to bloody waste bits. I am so frustrated. Things seemed to be working for awhile.
Medications–4 Remicade infusions since summer to now, 20 mg prednisone, 120 propranolol for tachycardia, Flagyl, Iron
So Update–Went to Penn, they ordered an MRI to determine whether it was Crohn’s or Colitis. MRI results showed Blood Clot in left leg.
Now I am currently on Coumadin at another hospital due to this urgent nature. Any suggestions if this is the best protocol?
